Content
The course provides a brief overview of European garden and landscape architecture in modern times, which is preserved as built, cultural, and planning heritage, both hidden and visible. The focus is on the phenomenology of open spaces, one could say on the canonical rules of composition, as well as on the genesis of their characteristics.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the essential developmental trends of European garden and landscape architecture and consider them as a context in current issues of open space planning.
