A Huus für d'Lüt
An inclusive place for Lustenau through Tactical Urbanism
In the summer term of 2025, a new lively space for Lustenau is to be created as part of a co-creative design and planning process: ‘A Huus für d'Lüt’ (eng: ‘A house for the people’). This space will primarily serve as a youth centre, but will also be open to people of all ages and backgrounds and create space for various uses. The aim of the project is to use creative, flexible and participatory approaches to design a place that is orientated towards the needs of the local community and brings about positive change in the long term. Transparency, modularity, variability and the interplay between inside and outside therefore key.
The focus of the course lies on the collaboration of Master's students of architecture and spatial planning with local stakeholders, the development of a concept and the actual 1:1 realisation as part of a building workshop. An intensive semester awaits us, the result of which has the potential to really make a difference!:
Master of Spatial Planning: The project is the core subject of elective module 3: City and Landscape and is coupled with the supplementary subjects Excursion (260.735 EX) and Practical Planning Discourse(VU 280.A40).
The course always takes place on Tuesdays from 09:00 - 13:00 in presence (compulsory attendance!).
Kick-off on February 27th, 2025 (online) - information will follow.
Field trips to Lustenau
Two field trips (EX 280.A39 City and Landscape) to Lustenau are an essential part of the project.
