City in Climate Change
The content focus of the seminar relates to the intersection of tactical urbanism as a research and action approach and climate change adaptation as a framing topic. The seminar focuses on the scientific elaboration of the above-mentioned topics as well as the conception for a subsequent publication. On the one hand, the textual elaborations focus on scientific work, its discourse and the communication of new ideas. On the other hand, the linking of these texts with an application-orientated example. The Tactical Urbanism project from theprevious summer semester 2023 "HARD AM LIMIT" will be used specifically for this purpose. The results of this course are thus cast in a theoretical-scientific framework and made accessible to the public.
The seminar is a supplementary subject in elective module 3: City and Landscape. The course is coordinated in terms of content and schedule with the core subject of the elective module PR Design on City and Landscape (260.715), which provides an optimal thematic focus in the Master's programme. The lecture exercise Planning Practical Discourse (260.855 VU), which is also designed in such a way as to ensure that the elective module has a uniform thematic focus, also accompanies the course. This provides the ideal opportunity to complete the entire elective module totalling 18 ECTS credits in one semester.
