Review of the excursion to Paris

Many thanks to Maximilian Gawlik, Jean Bénet, and the whole team at L'Institut Paris Region for hosting us and our students as part of our lecture “Transforming Spaces” from Technische Universität Wien. It was a very fruitful and insightful meeting, where many of us felt inspired by the impressive work accomplished in Paris in recent years and the innovative projects planned for the years to come.

It was a powerful confirmation that we are on the right path toward rethinking future uses of today’s sealed urban surfaces, such as parking lots — and that what once seemed unthinkable can become reality within just a few years. Now is exactly the right moment to showcase how we can make urban areas more livable for everyone. We are using this inspiration to enhance our transformation concepts and take our design approaches to the next level.
