Application
In general, students who apply for a full-year place are preferred over those applying for only one semester, as designated full-year places cannot be split into semester places by us (TU Wien).
The application must be submitted via TISS and can be in German or English.
Further information on the application process can be found on the website of the Service Unit of Student and Staff Exchange Services (Link see “official information”).
Language Proficiency
All applicants planning a semester abroad in Italy, France, or Spain are advised to upload a language certificate with their application. This does not have to be an official test – a high school diploma or a certificate from a language school, or in the case of the native language, a birth certificate, is sufficient to prove basic knowledge.
However, some universities (e.g., ETSAB or ETSAV) require an official language certificate with a specific level (see list). For the nomination phase, official certificates like DELE/SIELE are not necessary. It is sufficient to submit school certificates that prove your language skills. However, these language skills must be submitted when applying to the host institution.
Nomination
After a positive nomination, the information will be forwarded directly from the Service Unit of Student and Staff Exchange Services to the host university. If you have any questions or want to inquire whether this forwarding has already taken place, please contact the Service Unit of Student and Staff Exchange Services at TU Wien directly.
Online Learning Agreement
The Online Learning Agreement (OLA) is created by the students in the dashboard and signed online by the Dean of Studies.
