History of garden art

The course focuses on the history, structure, typology, and use of open spaces in garden art and urban planning in modern times. Attention is given to both the phenomenology, one could say the canonical rules of composition, as well as the genesis of the features. In addition to the theoretical foundations of garden design and the history of ideas, the stylistic manifestations, design details, as well as the functional and social aspects of individual art periods, will be taught. The course is supplemented with two small excursions.
